We invite you to join scouting!

What is Scouting?

Are you interested in camping, canoeing, hiking, and the outdoors?  Want to learn how to find your way in the wilderness?  Start a fire without a match?  Sleep in a snow shelter and be warm?  You can do all this and more in Scouting.  Through scouting, boys will learn skills and have experiences they are unlikely to find anywhere else.  As they build their skills in wilderness survival, outdoor cooking, first aid, and Leave No Trace camping they will learn self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, environmental awareness and community service.  Boy Scouts are open to all boys from 5th through 12th grades.  Applications can be found here Join Boy Scouts

Who are we?

Troop 122 has been active in Madison for 60 years. We meet Tuesday nights at 7 pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church, corner of Segoe and Mineral Point. The scouts will tell you the best part of scouting are the activities and outings! These include monthly weekend camping trips, such as snow shelters, backpacking, and skiing, as well as activities such as bowling, capture the flag, archery, and community service projects. During the summer we attend summer camp and go on high adventure trips. Recent high adventure trips included backpacking in the Wind River Range in Wyoming, the Live Aboard Scuba Adventure at the Boy Scout Sea Base in the Florida Keys, experiencing the wildness of Alaska, and kayaking in the Apostle Islands. For more about our trips see our About Troop 122 page.

Troop 122 is open to all boys and their families and does not discriminate for any reason.

Many of our activities are free.  For outings with extra costs, scholarships are available.
