About Troop 122

We invite you to join scouting!

What is Scouting?

Are you interested in camping, canoeing, hiking, and the outdoors?  Want to learn how to find your way in the wilderness?  Start a fire without a match?  Sleep in a snow shelter and be warm?  You can do all this and more in Scouting.  Through scouting, youth members will learn skills and have experiences they are unlikely to find anywhere else.  As they build their skills in wilderness survival, outdoor cooking, first aid, and Leave No Trace camping they will learn self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, environmental awareness, and community service.  Scouts BSA is open to all youth from 5th through 12th grades.  Applications can be found here Join Scouts

Who are we?

Troop 122 has been active in Madison for more than 50  years. We meet Tuesday nights at Covenant Presbyterian Church, near Hamilton Middle School.  The boys will tell you the best part of scouting are the activities and outings!  These include monthly weekend camping trips, such as snow shelters, whitewater rafting, and skiing, as well as, activities such as capture the flag, archery, and community service projects.  During the summer we attend summer camp and go on high adventure trips.  Some of our high adventure trips include canoeing on the Namekagon River, exploring Colorado, backpacking in the Wind River Range in Wyoming, and the Live Aboard Scuba Adventure at the Boy Scout Sea Base in the Florida Keys.

About Scouts BSA

Scouts BSA is a year-round program for youth in fifth grade through high school that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves.

In Scouts BSA, young men and women go places, test themselves, and have one-of-a-kind adventures that can’t be found anywhere else.

For the first time in its 100+ year history, the iconic program of the Boy Scouts of America is open to young women as well as young men, all of whom will have the chance to earn Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
